ILEG's AFR100 RIVER NYANDIWA RIPARIAN LANDSCAPE RESTORATION SITE ON NATIONAL TREE PLANTING DAY

ABOUT EVENT

On 10th May 2024, the National Tree Planting Day,  at Asembo Bay ILEG’s AFR100 River Nyandiwa riparian landscape restoration site we partnered with the National Government, local community, and Kokise Community Self Help Group to plant 6,500 trees in local schools and degraded riparian landscapes around River Nyandiwa.


The team planted indegeneous trees comprising Siala, Ober, Manera and Lucina, among others. The event was presided over by Rarieda District Officer Linda Lusweti, Chief Inspector of Police Irene Soso, East Asembo Location Chief Fred Omino and local community leaders and members.
