Duncan Okowa is a Programmes Manager at the Institute for Law and Environmental Governance. As head of the Land and Natural Resources programme, he conducts and coordinates fund-raising, research, policy outreach and capacity building campaigns on topical issues related to land and natural resources. He has excelled in writing and following up on funding proposals; developing effective project implementation plans; organising meetings and campaigns; and conducting research and analysis on legal and policy issues associated with the right to land and natural resources. Prior to joining ILEG, Duncan served as a Project Associate at University of Nairobi’s Centre for Advanced Studies on Environmental Law and Policy where he was involved in organizing interviews and consultative meetings; developing survey instruments; and preparing technical reports. He has also worked previously as a sales representative in the pharmaceutical industry. Duncan holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry and M.A (Environmental Policy) from University of Nairobi.
