Joseph Murabula


Joseph Murabula is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Public Secretary in Kenya. He is the Chief Finance Officer at ILEG. He has been instrumental in executing ILEG’s finance strategy over the last ten years including a successful drive towards adherence to donor fiduciary standards and adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Joseph’s interest in environmental Governance and environmental finance matters has marked him out as an expert in this area. He has presented several papers at international conferences on climate finance and was for two straight years - 2013 and 2014, a panelist discussing the role of development finance institutions in promoting low carbon development pathways and the mechanisms for scaling up National Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAS) Financing during the Africa Carbon Forum – an annual trade fair and knowledge sharing platform for low carbon investment in Africa, sponsored by the Nairobi Framework Partners (United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Climate Change Secretariat, UNEP DTU Partnership, the World Bank, the Africa Development Bank and International Emissions Trading Association).

Joseph has also played a critical role in the setting up of the Regional Collaboration Centre for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) covering the Anglophone Africa situated in Kampala and until end of 2014 served as the Africa based member of its policy organ - Steering Committee.
