Francis Oremo serves as the Programme Manager at the Institute for Law and Environmental Governance (ILEG). He is a PhD Environmental Policy Candidate and DAAD scholar at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP), University of Nairobi. Mr. Oremo holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kenyatta University, Kenya. His skills and experiences span research and project management. Mr. Oremo has undertaken various assignments which entailed developing community resilience to climate change through adaptation and risk reduction measures; and enhancing natural and socio-cultural capital in dryland ecosystems for sustainability, including with regard to governance issues, and capacity development. Prior to joining ILEG, Mr. Oremo served as a Project Manager of the ACP-EU Technology Transfer Network on Rainwater Harvesting (AFRHINET) at the University of Nairobi. AFRHINET project was coordinated by Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), Germany. His research interests include: environmental governance, watershed management, climate change, sustainable ecosystem functioning and rainwater harvesting irrigation management. .
