The coaching-approach offers County Government of Kwale on-the job support for developing a climate change policy and legislative framework. It aims to successively build capacities of relevant county government’s representatives, community groups and stakeholders to develop policy and legal instruments that will enable effective planning, coordination, financing and implementation of climate change mitigation and adaption actions at the county level. The kick-off workshop, therefore will provide a platform for setting common goals and purpose of the project.
This 6th County Extractive Sector Convening will be held on 10th December, 2019 at the Kaskazi Beach Hotel in Ukunda, Kwale County. The one-day forum seeks to bring together local communities, civil society, county government, the private sector and academia from Kwale to discuss the status, opportunities and challenges of achieving greater transparency and accountability in the extractives sector.
To promote dialogue and action towards an accountable and sustainable extraction for improved
livelihoods of local communities in areas with active mining oil and gas.
The Chalice-ILEG Youth Entrepreneurship Conference 2019 is scheduled to take place in Nairobi on June, 29th 2019. Themed ‘Nurturing Young Entrepreneurs’, the Conference is a sequel to the second Chalice Youth Entrepreneurship Conference held in February 2019. It is one in series of planed annual youth entrepreneurship conferences to be organised by Chalice and ILEG under the auspices of the Nairobi Site Programme’s work portfolio. The conferences are primarily intended to provide a platform for dialogue, training and sharing of experiences in business among the Kenyan youth. In this conference,we shall invite shortlisted finalists to pitch to judges & audience for an opportunity to get funding for their ideas and businesses. We shall also have key note speakers with vast

A key component of this project involves strengthening county-level capacities for development planning and extractive sector governance. It is against this backdrop that ILEG is organising a discussion forum on “Extractives in County-Level Development Planning.”
